DULUTH, Minn. – The contrast between hot and cold…

Local businesses that specialize in warm and cool items are experiencing business, amidst the frigid weather. The elements encouraged customers at the Duluth Coffee Company to get some hot coffee.

“Woke up and it’s like a little bit of a shock wave,” said customer Rick Lampton. “We’ve had some pretty nice weather over the last couple weeks and couple days of 15 to 20 below, it’s like a good time for some coffee,”

On the other hand, a local ice cream shop saw some business coming through their doors. Customers came in to have their share of cold sweet treats, and workers are expecting more business as the day goes by.

“I hope so,” said Zach Shears, an employee of Love Creamery. “I’ve seen two people for today. I hope to see more after lunch. Usually the first hour on weekdays is kind of slow in general.”
