Duluth Police Investigate Lincoln Park Shooting

DULUTH, Minn. – Duluth police arrested a 24-year-old Barnum man Tuesday afternoon after a shooting incident on the 2800 Block of West 1st Street.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired around 2:30 p.m.

Witnesses gave a description to officers of the suspect running into a nearby address.  When officers surrounded that address, the suspect exited and was taken into custody without incident.

A gun believed to be involved was located in the waistband of the suspect, according to authorities.

Police do not believe the shots fired were intended for a person or property.

Nobody was injured.

The suspect was lodged in the St. Louis County Jail on a preliminary charge of reckless discharge of a firearm within a municipality.

One woman who lives in the neighborhood says she worries things are changing there.

“I want to move I mean I own my house but I don’t know how much it could sell for or who would want to buy it because of the neighborhood. I don’t feel safe obviously and this was kind of a wake up call,” said Jhon Rae Reeves, who heard the shots fired.
