CHUM’s Executive Director Is Retiring At The End Of The Year
Lee Stuart has served in the position since 2013.
DULUTH, Minn. – The Executive Director of CHUM in Duluth has announced she will be retiring at the end of the year.
Lee Stuart has served in the position for about seven years.
Many believe her leadership has proven to be instrumental in bringing awareness to Duluth’s homeless community.
Stuart says she has accomplished many of the goals she and CHUM’s Board of Directors set when she started the position.
She says now is time to hand over her duties to someone who could focus more on mental health and substance abuse.
In the meantime, there is still more work to do before leaving the position in December.
“I want to finish working on making sure we have the support for the shelter, said Stuart. “I want to make sure our relationships with the state, county, HUD in Minnesota continue to be really strong. I want to reach out to congregations to say come join this effort.
A new executive director is expected to be announced in November.
Ultimately the decision will be left up to CHUM’s Board of Directors, but Stuart says she would like someone who has deep ties in the community and a vision for a more just and compassionate world to fill the job.
