Hardware Stores Continue to Stay Open

Despite most businesses shutting down, hardware stores are still up and running as they are considered essential businesses.

SUPERIOR, Wis. – Despite most businesses shutting down, hardware stores, like Campbell Lumber in Superior, are still up and running as they are considered essential businesses.

The president of the store tells us they are supplying construction crews for building projects around the community while other customers are coming in for home projects, like kitchen cabinetry, along with windows and siding.

Ownership says it hopes that once the pandemic ends, business picks up.

“I’m hopeful and anticipate a big surge,” said Frank Gerard, president of Campbell Lumber. “Everybody’s working, the economy was going great, so I think there’s a lot of people, hopefully it’s temporary.”

As it did before the coronavirus, Campbell Lumber does no-contact delivery. The company drops off materials and unloads it, and does not require a signature.
