Duluth Woman Killed in Sunday ATV Crash
COOK, Minn. – Authorities say a 53-year-old Duluth woman died Sunday night after an ATV crash in rural Cook.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched to an ATV accident in the 3200 block of Randa Road on the northern side of Lake Vermillion around 9:20 p.m. Sunday.
When deputies and first responders arrived on the scene, they found the 53-year-old woman lying in the roadway near the overturned ATV.
Despite life-saving efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say it appears the woman was driving southbound on Randa Road, which is gravel, when the ATV suddenly swerved right, ejecting the driver and causing the ATV to roll several times.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of the family.
