Taste of Duluth Postponed to September

Taste of Duluth was originally scheduled for July 25 and will now take place on September 12 at Bayfront Festival Park.

DULUTH, Minn. – While things are starting to open back up, many events are still getting postponed or canceled, including this year’s Taste of Duluth at Bayfront Park.

Taste of Duluth has been postponed to September 12. The event, which was originally scheduled for July 25, lets people walk around and enjoy food, live music, crafts, beers and other products. But with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s recent announcement of outdoor gatherings of 250 people or less, organizer Tracy Lundeen had to make a decision, but didn’t want to cancel it all together.

“These folks are all just absolutely clamoring for something to do. They haven’t been able to function all summer and I personally believe the general public wants to get back out and have a festival,” Lundeen said.

For Lundeen, who is president of Lundeen Productions and puts on events like the Women’s Expo and the Wedding Show, says it’s been difficult seeing so many of his events get postponed and he says the pandemic has been tough on their industry.

“We can’t put on events, we can’t plan events. The hospitality industry is just getting clobbered so these folks are hurting badly. This has been very unprecedented, we’re just waiting for it to be over so we can get our life back to normal. And I pray to god that most of these businesses are going to make it because it’s scary,” Lundeen added.

Lundeen says he feels confident that the Taste of Duluth will take place on September 12 at Bayfront Festival Park.
