UMD Women’s Soccer Team Continues Tradition of Sponsoring Local Families During Holiday Season
Even during the pandemic, the Bulldogs came through and brought Christmas joy to four different families.
DULUTH, Minn. – This week, the UMD women’s soccer team continued their annual partnership with the Duluth Salvation Army to sponsor families for the holidays. And even during the pandemic, the Bulldogs came through and brought Christmas joy to four different families.
“It’s kind of like all of your hard work and wrapping all the gifts, the anticipation of it, I wish I could be there on Christmas to see the kinds open the gifts. That would be even better. Sometimes you just meet the parents. Sometimes you meet the kids as well. But they’re so appreciative and it makes you feel great that you can help someone else out and to meet someone in the community. It kind of makes Duluth feel even more like home,” said junior defender Shannon King.
This will be the 17th year that the UMD soccer team has sponsored families during the holidays.
