UMD Women’s Basketball Erase Double-Digit Deficit Late to Top Emporia State in NCAA Opener

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The UMD women’s basketball team erased a double-digit deficit late in the fourth quarter to send their game into overtime, where they would go on to defeat Emporia State 76-70 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Junior forward Brooke Olson finished with 31 points and 13 rebounds and Ann Simonet would hit the game-tying three-pointer with three seconds left to send the game to overtime.

The Bulldogs move on to face #2 seed Nebraska-Kearney. Tip-off is set for 7:45 p.m.
