South Ridge Baseball Thriving Under New Head Coach Aaron Weber
The Panthers finished the regular season with a 17-3 record and in the process, captured their first ever Polar League Conference title.
CULVER, Minn. – The South Ridge baseball team finished the regular season with a 17-3 record and in the process, captured their first ever Polar League Conference title under first-year head coach and former St. Scholastica standout Aaron Weber.
And for a team that won back-to-back section titles in 2018 and 2019, they’re not satisfied yet, as the Panthers have got eyes on pulling off a three-peat.
“It would mean a lot for those guys. I know a few of those guys, Jackson and Aaron and Conner, they’ve been here already, they’ve been to the state tournament before and I know that they’re hungry to get back and they’ve been playing like it. But for a lot of the new guys who haven’t been playing before, it’s really fun to be part of a state tournament and I think the guys would really enjoy that,” head coach Aaron Weber said.
“We were really able to come back together after losing our big group of seniors last year and come back from the sadness of not having a season last year and are doing well this year,” outfielder Jackson O’Bey added.
The section 7A baseball tournament kicks off on Tuesday.
