American Rescue Plan Funding Helps Duluth Public Schools

DULUTH, Minn.- A portion of Minnesota’s American Rescue Plan fund helped create more programs, provide transportation, and nearly double school attendance this summer.

These additional programs offer more credit recovery classes for students. And with more funding coming in, Duluth Public Schools are able to expand their resources for summer learning programs.

“But really what it’s allowing us to do is provide all the needs for the students, thinking about the whole needs of the child–thinking about their social emotional learning, their academic needs–thinking about what they need for other school opportunity,” said superintendent John Magas.

With this additional funding, Duluth Public Schools continue to close the education gap. The plan is to continue these programs next summer.
