Proctor Boys Hockey Excited for 2022 After Undefeated Run at Bill McGann Classic
The Rails scored 16 goals in the tournament and although they didn't win the championship, they have a lot to be pleased about from their performance.
PROCTOR, Minn. – When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, After spending the entire day, the Proctor boys hockey team is just hoping they can carry over their success from last week into 2022.
The Rails went 3-0 in the inaugural Bill McGann Memorial Classic, which put their record for the season right above 500. Proctor scored 16 goals in the tournament and although they didn’t win the championship, they have a lot to be pleased about from their performance.
“We got to see a lot of guys that maybe didn’t get as much time leading up to this. It’s one of those things where we’re measuring where some guys are. Some guys showed us what they got which is good,” head coach Jeff Laspi said.
“Being here in our home rink with all of our fans and everything, it definitely helped us. We were really motivated to get all the wins. Everyone who was there, the intensity was great and everyone was just full-on good and we’re all having fun so it was nice. We’re just going to keep doing exactly what we’re doing and hopefully we can just keep winning from here out,” said goaltender Sam Johnson.
The Rails will be back in action Tuesday night when they host the Bill McGann Classic champs Mora.
