Landline Continues Growth During Pandemic

DULUTH, Minn. – The addition of Sun Country to Duluth International Airport in late 2021

has helped one business offering services to people looking to get to and from the Twin Cities.

Landline says they have been partners with the airline just a few months after they started in 2019.  Despite the pandemic, they continued to offer rides and have been rewarded with continued growth.

“We never did stop running our buses,” says Sand Jokela, Outstation Manager at their Duluth location. “We ran the entire time we had it, and the numbers really have picked up in the past year, and it’s continuing to get better and better as hopefully this thing will go away.”

Jokela says people have been attracted to their services since they offer a full coach size bus, which can provide more room for people as they go between Duluth and the Twin Cities.  That also includes people who may not need to use an airplane.

“Anybody can use this service,” says Jokela.  “You don’t have to be on a flight.  It’s just that we’re only going to go from the Duluth airport to the Minneapolis airport, but anybody can use it.”

They are currently running a customer appreciation promotion this week, where certain routes can be purchased through the end of April for as low as 9-dollars.  Jokela says people are taking advantage of it.  “The bookings have seem to have gone up quite a bit.  It’s quite a bit of savings from what the regular price is.  We have a lot of people that have used our service regularly and they are taking advantage of that to use it to get down to Minneapolis.”
