Dog Training Company Offering Pack Walks to Help Ease Reactivity

DULUTH, Minn. — If dog parks are just too overwhelming for your dog, one Duluth dog training company is helping dogs manage their reactivity through group walks. Without competition between the canines, they are able to enjoy nature and new smells.

Bold North Dog Training hosts group pack walks twice a week. These walks allow dogs to explore the outside while getting them around other furry friends.

Throughout the walk the dogs are leashed and in a structured setting, each dog is given their own space as they walk along together.

For reactive dogs, these pack walks could keep them calm in a new setting and teach them how to behave around their peers.

“They’re extremely important for a lot of dogs already have reactivity issues, so maybe they need space, or they’re trying to build more neutrality, have positive experiences,” said Tori Troyer, Professional Dog Trainer. “So people struggle to get the dog to focus on them, or operating various public settings, this is a good, safe opportunity for them.”

The walks are every Monday night and Friday morning, the group hits up different trails around the area each week.

In order to keep the dogs safe on their new adventures, they must be up to date on vaccinations.

Information for the pack walks can be found on Bold North’s Facebook page.
