Super One Raises $32,500 For ALS Fishing Fundraiser
DULUTH, Minn. — The Kolar Toyota ALS Fishing Tournament is put on by Never Surrender Inc. every year, to help raise money for those living with the disease. This year’s event was on June 2nd.
Super One Foods also gave customers a chance to donate to the cause. In total they raised $32,500!
Customers were able to donate by rounding up, or pressing 1, 3 or 5 dollars at pin pads at local area Super Ones.
“It’s great to have the platform to offer customers to donate to these types of causes. And then when we really come together to make a big impact those small donations, they really add up so each customer just chipping in a little bit during their shopping trip, it makes a huge impact and can go to support really great causes,” said Susie Marchand, Digital Media Manager.
Never Surrender Inc. the organization that raises money for people living with ALS has raised over $20 million since 1995. They say even through the pandemic they have never stopped fighting against the disease.
“After COVID it had been really easy for a nonprofit to lose momentum, and we have not lost any momentum. We did a couple years of virtual tournaments and snowmobile rides, but we’ve just continued momentum and we continue to raise more and more every year,” said Sandy Judge, Never Surrender Inc.
New this year Never Surrender will be hosting the Tomassoni Tour, Cycle for ALS honoring the late Minnesota State Senator David Tomassoni. That will be held September 14.
