Teen Identified In BWCAW Drowning

BWCA, MINN. — Authorities have released the name of a teen that drowned in the Boundary Waters (BWCAW).

Lester Hochstetler, 18, of Clear Lake, Wisconsin drowned Wednesday evening in Gillis Lake.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was in a canoe with other fishermen when it overturned.

Hochstetler was not wearing a personal flotation device, according to the sheriff’s office.
