Minnesota Power Holds Energy Awareness Expo

Minnesota Power is helping the Duluth community celebrate Energy Awareness Month.

They put on their annual Energy Awareness Expo at Salvation Army earlier today. It featured community groups and free energy-saving kits. The event aimed to educate people about energy assistance and provide resources for home efficiency, safe housing, and other affordability programs. As the winter months approach, Minnesota Power Customer Programs and Service Representative Crystal Pelkey says there are many steps you can take to save energy and money.

“One of the things we like to talk about in October is energy vampires, so if you’re not using an appliance unplug it,” Pelkey said. “Some people don’t know that if an appliance is plugged in, it is still using energy.”

More information about energy conservation and those pesky energy vampires can be found on Minnesota’s Power’s website.
