Members of the St. Louis County Rescue Squad responded to a missing “woodsman” Thursday evening east of Cotton.

Capt. Rick Slatten told FOX 21 a specialized vehicle (as seen in the picture) was called in to reach the man who was stuck in a knee-deep swampy area.

The Rescue Squad eventually reached the man around 9 p.m. who was suffering from mild hypothermia, but otherwise in good condition, according to Slatten.

Slatten said the man got stuck in the swamp trying to rescue his dog.  The dog is also in good condition.

The initial report to the Rescue Squad was about a missing hunter.
