Festival of Trees Rings in the Holiday Shopping Season
DULUTH, Minn. — Holiday shoppers were busy this weekend at the DECC as the Junior League of Duluth Festival of Trees returned for their 34th year.
Over 170 vendors from across the Northland sold a variety of items between two floors of the DECC. Agates, clothing, books, and Christmas decor were just some of the items sold. Between packed Saturday and a steady Sunday a few vendors said that they made way more than they were expecting.
“This is the first time we’ve been here and we were totally impressed. Total sales of the weekend was like $6,000,” said Wendy Henagin, Owner of UpScale Dumpster Divas. “We did a record show, this is our top selling show of the year.”
“We decided to come out to Festival of Trees because it seemed like a really great fundraiser and just a lot of community support,” said Dani Hanily, with SouLife Essentials. “I was really surprised with how many people came out. I mean just even yesterday at 9 o’clock there was a line out the door.”
The Junior League of Duluth is a nonprofit organization that’s dedicated to helping their community through volunteering. Every year at Festival of Trees they also collect food for Second Harvest Food Bank.
