Marshall’s Lian Leads Toppers in Rout Over Lumberjacks

Hilltoppers improve to 3-1 overall

CLOQUET, Minn.- After earning an 11-1 win on Tuesday, The Duluth Marshall girls hockey team kept up their offensive attack in Thursday’s 5-0 shutout over Cloquet/Esko/Carlton.

Following a scoreless second period, the Hilltoppers would score as Avery Lian sent a wrist shot past C-E-C Goaltender Izabella Strang. Liang would score another goal in the second period on a power play.

Ilsa Lindaman led Marshall with three points (one goal, two assists). Annie Bachand finished with a goal and an assist while Nina Thorson scored a goal in the third period. At the net, Aurelia Anderson allowed no goals with 10 saves on the night.

Standing at 3-1 overall, the Hilltoppers will now face Roseville/Mahtomedi Saturday afternoon.

With this loss, Cloquet/Esko/Carlton falls to 1-2 overall. The Lumberjacks will stay on their home on Saturday when they host Bloomington Jefferson.
