One Roof Community Housing Celebrates New Community Land Trust Homes In Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. — Two new affordable homes have now been listed on the market thanks to One Roof Community Housing in Duluth.

The houses are Community Land Trust Homes which will sell to household incomes below 80% of the area median income. They are the first LANG model homes in the area, which is a standard model offered by Lagom Modular, the contractor. Land Trust Budget

The homes are selling for $175,000 which is $75,000 below the appraised value. They even include solar panels making them energy efficient which will reduce utility costs.

“The beauty of the community land trust program is that it’s permanently affordable. So, a family can move in, and this will be their home for as long as they want. Their children can inherit the home, but if they sell the home will return to the land trust and it will be sold again to another household that’s below 80% of the area median income,” said Debbie Freedman, Housing Development Coordinator for One Roof.
