Duluth Police And Firefighter Of The Year Recognized
DULUTH, Minn. — A Duluth police officer and firefighter were recognized for their efforts Wednesday.
The Kiwanis Club of Duluth hosted the 2023 Duluth Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year Award Ceremony. The firefighter of the year is Josh Bade. He was selected by peers within his department for all of the hard work and dedication he puts into the job.
The police officer of the year is Jim Forsyth. He has been an officer for 11 years. Forsyth says being nominated by his coworkers is what makes the award so special.
“The nominations happen from the officers that I work with every day and was fortunate enough to get nominated. And then through voting received enough votes. So, yeah it feels really special to be recognized by fellow officers that I work with every day,” said Forsyth.
The awards ceremony is held to remind the recipients that the work they do every day is appreciated and worth honoring.
