Ronald McDonald House Northland Provides Place To Stay For Families In Need
DULUTH, Minn. — A non-profit in Duluth is making sure families that are suddenly displaced feel comfortable during the holidays.
The Ronald McDonald House Northland provides a home away from home for people whose children are having a medical crisis.
They provide free overnight rooms, laundry services, meals, and hygiene products. Around the holidays they try to make it special for families going through a hard time.
“We really try to make it festive. We decorate the house, we have you know a big Christmas dinner,” said Paula Broschofsky, program manager for Ronald McDonald House Northland. “We like to give gifts during the holidays as well. Try to make it feel like home as much as we can.”
There are many ways to support the organization. One new program launched this week called Cooks for Kids is where volunteers can come to the house and make meals for families. To learn more, click here.
