10th Annual Scholarship Awards Spread Holiday Cheer and Music

Northland Musicians and Bluebird Foundation Fundraise for Youth in Performing Arts

Christmas music and the giving spirit filled the air at Clyde Iron Works earlier tonight.

Northland artists, like Tom O’Hara, joined together to help the Bluebird Foundation spread holiday cheer. It was also the 10th Annual Scholarship Awards. It recognizes an outstanding student in the performing arts with a scholarship and also offers six different grants.

The Holiday Celebration also featured live music and the annual release of the Christmas by the Lake CD. President of Bluebird Foundation, Tracy Lundeen, said the album continues to do well, even with the decline in CD popularity.

“It’s the fact that all these local musicians have donated their talents to create this wonderful music collection, that is also a fundraiser for the foundation,” Lundeen said.

The collector’s album, featuring 18 holiday songs, has been a Northland tradition for two decades. The event also featured a silent auction, raffle, and games, all to support youth in performing arts.
