Radio DJs Annual Day of Giving Helps Second Harvest Food Bank

Midwest Communications Radio Stations Join Together with Super One Foods

DULUTH, Minn. — If you shop at Super One Foods, you might have seen — and heard — some familiar voices near the check out lanes today.

Radio DJs from some of the Northland’s most popular stations were at the Miller Hill location, inviting the community to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank. Midwest Communications Radio Operations Manager Rich Cannata said shoppers could donate non-perishable food items, cash, or pre-packed five dollar donation bags.

“There is a big success here,” Cannata said. “The people are great, they’re always great to help us out. Super One is known to help the community in a lot of ways and so having them welcome us has been great. They’re just very welcoming, it’s just a good place, and there’s a lot of traffic. There’s a lot of people that come into this store. The more traffic, the more donations you get.”

If you were unable to make it to Super One Foods today and are interested in donating, you can go to northernlakesfoodbank.org for more information on how to contribute.
