Live Nativity Scene Brings Joy to Benedictine Living Communinty

DULUTH, Minn. — It was a Christmas first for the Benedictine Living Community in Duluth.

A donkey, sheep, dog and chickens made up the live nativity scene that was presented at Benedictine Living Community. In addition to the animals, 15 actors were brought in to play the various roles. The costumes were rounded up from churches and residents,

The work was all done to give the residents and their friends and families a new experience… And one that they loved.

Mary Wallin, foundation and marketing director said, “The looks on people’s faces, our residents, friend, families who have been here, small children, it was just a look of amazement and awe. And so, it really, really did bring to life these days of years and years ago.”

Foundation and marketing director Merry Wallin says planning for the nativity had been underway for nearly a year.
