DULUTH, Minn.- A pair of bigtime basketball plays and a show-stopping goal made the cut for this week’s top plays.
At number three, UW-Superior’s J’Vaun Walker scored the Yellowjackets’ first points on a baseline spin that led to an easy layup. Despite Walker’s 22 points, UWS fell to Crown College 67-58.
At number two, Duluth Denfeld’s Marnaries Ferguson stole a Hermantown pass in mid-air before feeding Ethan Starsted for two points off the turnover. Ferguson and the Hunters would go on to defeat the Hawks 83-77.
At number one, Duluth Marshall’s Nina Thorson stole a loose puck before scoring on a backhand finish at the net. Thorson and the Hilltoppers defeated Hibbing 7-2 on Monday.
