UWS Men Fall Short to Crown, Women Freeze Out Polars in Blowout
Men 6-2 overall, women improve to 4-4
SUPERIOR, Wis.- It was a tale of two games for UWS’s basketball teams as the men fell to Crown College while the women delivered a convincing win Friday evening.
The UWS men’s 67-58 defeat is only their second loss of the season as they are now 6-2 overall. The ‘Jackets were able to close the Polars’ deficit in the second half, but only scored two points in the final five minutes. J’Vaun Walker scored eight of the Yellowjackets’ first 10 points and led the team with 22 points.
The UWS women are now an even 4-4 following their 70-26 rout over the Polars. Elise Besonen finished the game with 15 points for the Yellowjackets.
Both teams will take the court on Saturday in a doubleheader against Minnesota Morris at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium.
