Fitger’s Shopping Mall Stores Remain Busy During Christmas Season

DULUTH, Minn. — At Fitger’s Shopping Mall, 15 shops sell a variety of goods; ranging from children’s clothes to outdoor wear, and even a little special something for our furry companions.

But this holiday season, shoppers turned a page back into shopping local.

“You can buy a book from lots and lots of places these days. Big box stores, online,” said Jennifer Jubenville, the store manager of The Bookstore at Fitger’s.  “When someone comes through the door, that is an opportunity to talk about books to help the customer find the right book for them. Or the right book for the gift that they want to give.”

Jubenville explained that 2023 will go down in the book  as one of their most successful years.

“I think for me, one of the ways that I judge whether a year has been successful or not is whether or not people come back,” Jubenville said.

Just upstairs, Indigo the Label sells high end women’s clothing. With a focus on sustainability and longevity, Owner Grace Shervey says her products are meant to last.

“You know it is a luxury and not a necessity,” said Shervey. “I think it’s just for me getting my name out there and creating awareness that I have very quality pieces. Sweaters always do great here in Duluth, I feel like at all times of year you can have a sweater.”

Fitger’s businesses will be open everyday with normal hours. Store hours will slightly adjusted on Christmas Eve from the normal. All stores will be closed on Christmas Day. Giving time for any last minute shoppers to find that perfect gift.
