NCHC Changing Playoff Format in 2026, Tournament Heading to Campus Sites
The 2024 and 2025 NCHC Frozen Faceoff will remain at the Xcel Energy Center.
ST. PAUL, Minn.- The NCHC is making changes to their current playoff format.
Except, it will take two years to go into effect.
The league announced on Tuesday that beginning in 2026, the tournament will be moving entirely to campus sites.
The tournament will last three weeks and one of the biggest changes sees the semifinals move to single elimination at two campus sites.
The 2024 and 2025 NCHC Frozen Faceoff will remain at the Xcel Energy Center. After that, the highest remaining seed will be the host.
