Stokke’s Meat Market Selling Holiday Boxes For Last Minute Christmas Shoppers
HERMANTOWN, Minn. — A local meat shop is selling the perfect last-minute gift for those wondering what to cook this holiday season.
Stokke’s Meat Market in Hermantown has holiday boxes with a variety of foods. This is the busiest time of year as prep starts right after Thanksgiving.
Boxes can include an assortment of brats, wings, pork links, bacon, steak, and twice baked potatoes. The owner says jerky and snack sticks have been great for stocking stuffers and that many people love gifting the holiday boxes.
“People you know I mean once they start buying them for people they just come back every year cause everybody likes the Christmas gift you know. Who wants socks and stuff you know? I’d rather have a box of meat,” said Shaine Stokke, owner of Stokke’s Meat Market.
Seafood is popular as well this time of year, along with prime rib, they actually go through 6,000 pounds of it a year. And with the warmer weather Stokke’s has noticed more people are out grilling.
“This has been a great year because last year you couldn’t even get to your grills you know and this year it’s like ‘oh my gosh’ you know I mean. I like to go to Florida in the winter and I’m like ‘well it’s really even not that bad, maybe I’ll stick around,'” said Stokke.
There is still plenty of time to pick up a holiday box. Stokke’s Meat Market will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Christmas Eve and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Christmas day.
