Duluth Salvation Army Receives Christmas “Miracle.”

Anonymous donor to step up with $25,000 donation.

It was a long, steady march, but the Duluth Salvation Army says they had another Christmas miracle.

The organization said Tuesday that it had reached their kettle goal for this holiday season. During the past couple of weeks, they were far behind their goal as the end of the campaign approached. But the day before Christmas Eve, they heard from an anonymous donor who said there would be a donation of $25,000.

Cyndi Lewis, Director of Development, described the donor and the check as quote, “The miracle we needed to reach our kettle goal!”

As the kettle campaign wound down the week before Christmas, Lewis said the community has always been there for the Salvation Army.

“The community here in Duluth traditionally has been amazing to our organization,” said Lewis. “I know that people are giving what they can this year. It’s very difficult. I totally understand that. I want to thank anyone who donated and anyone that volunteered,” Lewis said.

Lewis said the $25,000 will be presented to the organization on Thursday.
