UMD Men’s Hockey Returns from Break in Holiday Face-Off

Bulldogs facing Northeastern on Thursday

DULUTH, Minn.- After a much-needed holiday break, the UMD men’s hockey team will return to the ice as part of the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off in Milwaukee.

On Thursday, the Bulldogs will take on Northeastern, who they haven’t faced since 1999. UMD will wrap up their time in Milwaukee on Friday by facing either Air Force or Wisconsin. The Bulldogs (5-8-4) know that this week’s tournament can provide the jolt they need to begin the second half of their season.

“We’re looking forward that opportunity and we’re just going to focus on Thursday and continuing to focus on practice and take it day by day.” says Luke Loheit.

“I think we’re looking for that spark and I thought we ended on a pretty good note there. Still some things to work on but just trying to build off that and be confident in our game.” says forward Connor McMenamin.

Following the Holiday Face-Off, the Bulldogs will travel to St. Paul to face St. Thomas January 6th before their first home game of 2024 on January 12th against Colorado College.
