Minnesota Rep. Liz Olson Will Not Seek Reelection For 5th Term
MINNESOTA — After 8 years as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives Liz Olson has announced she will not seek reelection.
Olson was elected in 2016 as a member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party in District 8A of northeastern Minnesota. She says she is very proud of the work accomplished over the years from providing affordable housing, healthcare and childcare, making sure workers have access to earn sick and safe time, and fighting to end the opioid epidemic.
The decision to not run for a 5th term is so Olson can spend more time with family and friends and in the community.
“I can’t wait to have more time to run on our beautiful trails, enjoy time with friends, and be home more often for dinner and bedtime stories with my superhero husband and incredible daughter who have also sacrificed so much for a community they care about. It has been an amazing opportunity and deep honor to serve you. Thank you,” said Rep. Liz Olson.
Olson says no matter what the next chapter for her holds, she will always be an advocate for Duluth and its people.
