#7 UMD Women’s Hockey & Bemidji State Set to Clash for 2nd Time in Season
UMD has won the last 11 meetings between the two teams dating back to January of 2021.
DULUTH, Minn.-It was Thanksgiving weekend when the 7th ranked UMD women’s hockey team had their last home series.
That wait ends this upcoming weekend when the Bulldogs welcome in the Beavers of Bemidji State into AMSOIL for a two-game series.
It’s been a one-sided affair when the two teams have met. UMD has won the last 11 meetings dating back to January of 2021. And they’ve outscored the Beavers 57 to six in those games.
Earlier this season, UMD swept Bemidji on their home ice in October.
Head Coach Maura Crowell says her team has developed in every way since that meeting.
“That feels like a long time ago. I think we learned a lot about ourselves that weekend. Knowing that you’re never down and out. Game is not over until they tell you it is and that ability to come back is really important. Knowing that you can do that. I think we’ve grown every way possible,” said Crowell.
“You can’t view opponents differently in the sense where you can sit back and relax. We have to go in with a hundred percent and like I said every game matters. We need to bring our best game this weekend,” added senior defenseman Paula Bergstrom.
Game one is Friday at 3:01 PM.
