Marcus Theatres Ready To Celebrate National Popcorn Day

DULUTH, Minn. — Friday is National Popcorn Day and of course, Marcus Theatres is celebrating it.

The General Manager at Marcus Duluth Cinema says popcorn has been around for 4,000 years and is a staple when going to the movies. For Magical Movie Reward members and those who sign up for it you can get $5 off any size popcorn and be entered to win free popcorn for a year.

The Duluth theater sees many people who just like come in and buy popcorn, not even watch a movie. When asked what it is about movie theater popcorn, the GM says this.

“Well first of all every batch is made from the exact same ratio so, you know you’re gonna get the exact same quality every time. And it’s always made fresh. That popper is pumping out popcorn nonstop all day every day. So, it’s always fresh, always ready to go, always nice and warm for the customers and you know you’re getting the exact same quality product each scoop,” said Shawn Fennessey, General Manager of the Marcus Duluth Cinema.

Moviegoers can even purchase an Ultimate Popcorn Tub giving you unlimited popcorn for just $5 a visit. The Marcus Duluth Cinema is also bringing back the classics so on certain weekends each month there are films such as The Wizard of Oz or Labyrinth playing.
