Donna Howard Community Connect Offers Free Services In One Location

DULUTH, Minn. — Community members gathered at the Damiano Center in Duluth to receive much needed services all in one place.

Traveling around town may not be easy for everyone, especially on a day like Thursday with icy roads. The Donna Howard Community Connect is a place for multiple providers to offer their services all for free.

Organizations such as Safe Haven, Chum, and Life House were there. Services included different vaccines and testing’s, access to affordable housing and mental health providers, a free lunch, and a bag full of resources and supplies.

“Even though we have been seeing what seems to be like a milder winter that those members of our community who are unhoused are stilling needing services and still needing support and so, we just want to keep that going,” said Jaci Christiansen, Community Engagement Coordinator at Safe Haven.

Community organizations and providers donate to make the event possible, but they are always looking for help. If you’d like to donate you can send a check to the Damiano Center for the Community Connect.
