College Basketball: UMD Men Upset #2 Minnesota State, Women Falter Against Mavericks
UMD men's fourth-straight double-digit victory
DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD men’s basketball team was able to pull off a colossal upset Tuesday night, taking down second-ranked Minnesota State Mankato 85-70 at Romano Gymnasium.
Charlie Katona and Austin Andrews led the Bulldogs with 20 points each while Drew Blair added 19 points, including 13 in the first half. This marks UMD’s fourth-straight victory, all of which were by a scoring margin of over 10 points.
Meanwhile, the UMD women didn’t have the same kind of night as the men, falling 81-63 to the #22 Mavericks. Madelyn Granica led the way with 13 points and seven rebounds while Taya Hakamaki contributed 12 points.
