Marthaler & Francisco to Play for Gold Medal on Wednesday

The Gold medal game against Czechia is set for 5 AM on Wednesday.

GANGWON, South Korea.- Two Northlanders will compete for gold on Wednesday at the Youth Olympics.

Superior defenseman JJ Marthaler and Hermantown defenseman A.J. Francisco have been playing for the U.S. Youth Olympic Team overseas in South Korea.

On Tuesday, the duo was a part of the U.S.’ 6 to 5 shootout win over Canada.

That sets up the goal medal game Wednesday against Czechia. Puck drop is at 5 AM.
