Superior Police: Man With Rifle Arrested After Threats Of Violence
SUPERIOR, Wis. — Two armored vehicles were deployed around a home in Superior Saturday morning after police say a man was threatening his girlfriend with a rifle.
The incident began just after midnight at a home in the 1200 block of Birch Avenue.
“A female caller reported she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, during which he threatened to burn the house down and then began handling firearms that were in the home,” according to police.
The female and her children were able to leave the home safely, according to officials. “As officers were speaking to her at a safe location, the male exited the home with a rifle into the backyard,” according to police. A short time later, the man went back inside the home.
The Superior Police Department’s Emergency Response Team responded, along with the help of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Both agencies deployed their armored rescue vehicles.
The man exited the home around 7 a.m. and was taken into custody without incident.
