Lutsen Mountains General Manager Reacts To Lutsen Lodge Fire

The general manager of Lutsen Mountains, Jim Vick, was sympathizing with the staff at the nearby Lutsen Lodge Tuesday as they deal with the loss of the structure to fire.

Vick dealt with a massive fire in June of 2023 when Lutsen Mountains’ Papa Charlie’s restaurant went up in flames.

The memories at the beloved restaurant hangout turned into ashes.

Vick told FOX 21 Tuesday that the businesses in Lutsen stick together and support each other.  He said while the emotional toll is high right now at Lutsen Lodge, lives were not lost and he is confident they will rebuild.

“We partner with all these resorts. And, and in working together and collaboratively, we really market the whole area as a group quite well. I think we are known for that for working through whatever self interest we have for a greater good. And I’m certain that the community will rally behind Lutsen Resort, now as they need to go through their process of getting through the emotional part of the fire and then rebuilding,” Vick said.

Vick said the final design work of Papa Charlie’s new restaurant is underway. He expects construction to start in the summer and then open up sometime in the beginning of 2025.
