Duluth Protestors Demand Immediate Cease Fire in Gaza

DULUTH, Minn. –A group of protestors gathered Friday at a main entry point into Canal Park to let people know their position on the conflict in Gaza.

The Palestine Solidarity Working Group, organized the event to continue its efforts to have a cease-fire declared.

One of the leaders, Mary Owens explained why a protest in Duluth would make any difference in settling the conflict. “It’s our national government that’s supporting this genocide, right? We have to start somewhere,” said Mary Owens. “This is Duluth, local, state national, and all over the world we should be putting our hands up and saying this is not okay.”

The group pointed out that in addition to doctors and other healthcare professionals, members of the media trying to inform others of what is happening are being killed.  Something she says is against international law.
