DULUTH, Minn. — School was out at Lake Superior College today, but it wasn’t just a day for students to relax!

Each semester, LSC’s Student Success Day is an opportunity for students to build community through networking and skill building. LSC President Patricia Rogers said the college is all about getting students ready for the next phase of their life, whatever that might be.

“What we really want them to do is have that great experience here at LSC,” said Rogers. “We want them to be exposed to these different manufacturers, different businesses, industries, universities, everyone. Give them a chance to see and experience what that may be like after they leave LSC. So this is kind of a proving ground or a training ground for these folks.”

LSC students could attend dozens of different sessions throughout the day. These included test-taking strategies, a student club showcase, and even a ping pong tournament. The conference-style event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
