Human Remains Found After Camper Fire Near Eveleth

FAYAL TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A death investigation is underway in Fayal Township near Eveleth after human remains were found in debris from a fire.

The call came in around 2 p.m. Wednesday for a camper fire in the 4200 block of Clyde Road.

When officers arrived, the camper was burned to the ground.

The human remains were among the ashes.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Officer is working to identify the remains.

A cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Eveleth Police Department.
