Community Action Duluth is Offering Free Tax Services
The organization aims to help 1,200 people each year with their taxes

DULUTH, Minn. — Doing your taxes can be stressful, especially if you’re filing for the first time. Community Action Duluth is looking to help.
The Tax Site is offering free tax help for anyone with a household income of less than $64,000 a year. Each season, they aim to help 1,200 individuals and they’re currently on track to do so. Community Action’s Tax Site is offering both in-person and virtual services, ranging from answering a single question to walking clients through the entire process.
“Taxes shouldn’t be the end all, be all,” said Tax Site Coordinator Sasha Choporov. “It doesn’t have to be this huge, stressful situation where you don’t want to come in and get them done. I think Community Action does a really good job of putting that into the mindset of our clients. They feel comfortable coming in, just relaxing and hanging out, getting their tax return done and also learning a little bit. Like I said, taxes are a part of everyone’s life, every single day. So if we can not only prepare their taxes correctly, but we can also get them some knowledge to use throughout the year, that’s what our goal is.”
The Tax Site’s work is made possible by a team of three full-time employees and around fifty volunteers. Community Action is always looking for more help, even if you don’t feel confident with taxes yourself. If you’re interested in their services or volunteering, you can find more information at their website, communityactionduluth.org.
