Family: Pedestrian Killed On Skyline Parkway Walked Miles Daily
UPDATE (Feb. 21, 9 p.m.) FOX 21 learned more Wednesday evening about the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle while walking on Skyline Parkway in Duluth earlier this week.
A cousin of Kenneth Bickel, 70, of Duluth provided FOX 21 with pictures of Bickel. He said Bickel was a genealogist, loved Lake Superior and Duluth and walked six to eight miles every day.
UPDATE (Feb. 21, 1:25 p.m.) — Duluth Police have identified the pedestrian who died after he was hit by a vehicle while walking on Skyline Parkway late Tuesday afternoon.
The 70-year-old man is Kenneth Bickel of Duluth.
The Duluth Police Department extends their deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Bickel.
Authorities say this remains an active and ongoing investigation.

DULUTH, Minn. — Duluth police are investigating the death of a pedestrian on Skyline Parkway.
The incident was reported around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday in the area of West Skyline Parkway and West 5th Street.
A 70-year-old man was hit by a vehicle while walking, according to police. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounce dead.
“Initial investigation shows that the driver of the vehicle was traveling westbound and struck the male,” said Mattie Hjelseth, public information office for the Duluth Police Department.
The 46-year-old driver showed “no signs of impairment,” according to Hjelseth.
The name of the victim will be released after family is notified.
