Golfers Hit the Course as Big Lake Golf Resort Opens

CLOQUET, Minn. — It’s Tee time! Golfers are already hitting the fairways during spring-like conditions.

Big Lake Golf Resort in Cloquet opened its course today, making it the course’s earliest opening to date. Many eager golfers hit the greens for the first time in months. One of the owners of Big Lake says the course is in good shape, and after reviewing the upcoming weather, the decision was made to open.

“Wednesday afternoon we decided, yes, we can open it, talked with our greens keepers and we’re walking with pushcarts and pullcarts right now,” said Big Lake Golf Resort Owner Bill Jaskari. “But the weather is beautiful today, we’ve had a steady stream of golfers all day and we’ll be open Saturday and Sunday as well.”

Golf at Big Lake will continue Friday through Sundays during the spring, weather depending. The course says any updates or schedule changes will be posted on its website and Facebook Page.
