Warrior Brewing Hosting Fundraiser For Disabled Veterans Hockey Team
DULUTH, Minn. — A fundraiser supporting veterans and their love for hockey is happening Saturday.
Warrior Brewing Company in Duluth is hosting the event for the Lake Superior Warriors Disabled Military Hockey Team.
The nonprofit was founded in 2019 to help military veterans transition back into civilian society by using hockey as cognitive and physical therapy. The team makes it a point to get together playing a game every week, participates in many tournaments throughout the year and some are even taking a trip to Denmark.
The fundraiser will help with financial costs for traveling, lodging, and equipment.
“It’s near and dear to our heart to continue to give back both financially and also to just raise awareness for the different programs that exist out there for our different veterans and first responders that are in need. So, this event was important to us,” said Matt Caple, co-owner of Warrior Brewing.
The Lake Superior Warriors fundraiser starts at 3pm Saturday, March 2nd. It will include a live band, silent auction, raffle, and of course food.
