Northern Exposure Art Offers Northland-Inspired Painting Classes
Carly Jandl takes a step-by-step approach to sharing her creativity
DULUTH, Minn. — Today at Bent Paddle Brewing, people were able to enjoy not only a drink, but some painting too!
The step-by-step painting class was one of many put on by Northern Exposure Art around Duluth. Founder Carly Jandl has been offering classes for around two years and says it’s special to help people tap into their artistic side.
“We lose a lot of our creativity as we grow older,” Jandl said. “I’m noticing a lot of people wanting to get back to it because it’s basically like a form of therapy. I have so many return painters that have just kind of turned it into self care, going out, you know, once a month and doing something for themselves, being creative. It’s really special.”
All of the paintings Jandl uses for her classes are inspired by her husband’s nature photography. She provides all of the supplies and her students are able to walk away with their own painting of Northland scenery.
