UMD’s Brown Brings Energy, Defense to Bulldogs Lineup

Averaging 9.5 PPG, 4.8 RPG in 2023-24 Season

DULUTH, Minn.- As the UMD men’s basketball team prepare for the NCAA Tournament, they’ll likely depend on senior Josh Brown to play a significant role on both sides of the ball.

This season, Brown has averaged 9.5 points per game to go with 4.8 rebounds per game. What doesn’t show up on the stat sheet is his tenacity high-speed motor. Brown himself feels his biggest strength comes from his defense, but he’s been willing to whatever it takes for the Bulldogs to win.

“Just finding different ways to affect the game,” says Brown. “Whether that be through rebounding, whether that be through scoring, slashing, passing, defense, however I feel like I can make my impact on the game, I just try and go out there and do it on a play-by-play basis.”

The Bulldogs will begin NCAA Tournament play on Saturday, March 16.
