“O-C-D” Chant Against Duluth Basketball Player Prompts Disciplinary Action
Marshall School player taunted by Crosby-Ironton students after disclosing off-court perseverance.

After directing cruel chants at a Duluth Marshall basketball player, some students at Crosby-Ironton high school are being disciplined.
It happened at last Thursday’s game, when Crosby-Ironton was playing Marshall’s girls team.
Students in a section of Crosby-Ironton’s fans chanted “O-C-D” when Marshall’s Chloe Johnson had the ball.
Earlier this year, Johnson–an eighth grader and standout player–had gone public about struggles off the court.
She spoke to the Star Tribune openly about dealing with obsessive compulsive disorder and mental health issues.
As for the O-C-D chant, her father, Greg Johnson, posted on his Facebook page:
“Chloe is a strong kid, but she’s just a kid. It took a lot of strength for her to be vulnerable and share her story, but she wanted to.”
Meanwhile, Crosby-Ironton principal Jennifer Strom confirmed to Fox 21 that four students involved have been disciplined.
She declined to say what those actions were.
She said that she “…did address the entire student body and staff and that the Crosby-Ironton students will do better moving forward.”
